Abstract:

The research goal is the development of an ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) method for quantification of 1α-hydroxycorticosterone as active glucocorticoid in the plasma of sharks in an EN ISO/IEC 17025 regulated environment and analytical validation according the requirements of the Commission Decision No. 2002/657/EC. Biological validation is done by assessing 1α-hydroxycorticosterone using UPLC-MS/MS in samples from unstressed and stressed dogfish (Squalus acanthias).
