Abstract:

The research goal is to investigate in vitro how different glucocorticoids, as seen across vertebrates, influence the bacterial pathogen Vibrio anguillarum and Vibrio Harveyi, respectively, hereby contributing to the elucidation of the enigma of the interplay between bacterial pathogens, glucocorticoids and the hypothalamic-pituitary-interrenal (HPI) axis in fish. The engendered data will provide fundamental research insights regarding the interaction between bacteria, glucocorticoids and the stress level in fish and will facilitate the nowadays imperative sustainable development of aquaculture.
